Benchmark’s management team and core technical staff has more than 30 years combined experience working on major programs for the City of Atlanta dating back to the early stages of the City’s sewer improvement program. We currently have 25 employees.
Jan Bryson
President
Jan Bryson, the President of the Company and Director of Government Relations, has a long history of working with community and business leaders to improve the competitive environment for small and disadvantaged businesses in Atlanta. She was a shareholder of two other engineering firms prior to founding Benchmark and has an extensive experience in creating synergy between minority-owned businesses and Fortune 500 Corporations. Through her work with City and County Governments, Ms. Bryson is acutely aware of the role small companies play in the growth and vitality of an urban community. She is a board member of Greater Atlanta Economic Alliance and has been recognized for her achievement in advancing the cause of small and women owned business.
Eskender Abebe, P.E.
Director of Operations
Eskender Abebe, the Director of Operations is a registered professional engineer in Georgia and Ohio. He has worked in some of the largest infrastructure projects in the City of Atlanta. He is intimately knowledgeable of local governments’ obligations to comply with rigorous and ever changing State and Federal environmental regulations. Mr. Abebe obtained his Bachelors of Civil Engineering degree from the University of Dayton in Ohio and Masters of Business Administration from Goizueta Business School at Emory University in Atlanta. He also a member of American Society of Civil Engineers, American Water Works Association and Engineers Without Borders.
Anthony Inya-Agha
Anthony Inya-Agha has over twenty years of diversified experience in architectural design, engineering, estimating and project management of a variety of construction projects. Mr. Inya-Agha graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Construction Management from Jackson State University and has gained an in-depth knowledge of the construction industry while working throughout the state of Georgia. He has managed several municipal and private projects including educational, commercial and multi-family facilities and wastewater projects.
La’Shonda Mullins
La’Shonda Mullins is a certified Engineer In Training with over ten years experience in the civil engineering industry. Ms. Mullins obtained Bachelors and Masters degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Florida. She brings experience in water distribution and wastewater collection systems design and construction management, as well as site development design and construction to the BenchMark team. Mullins’ knowledge and professional experience in Jacksonville, FL and Atlanta, GA has led to her ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Joy Barnes
Joy Barnes is a seasoned public relations/community relations professional with a proven track record of over thirty years accomplishment in non-profit, B2B and B2C market segments. Ms. Barnes has demonstrated success in managing constituent issues, communicating and interacting with community residents and organizations, construction management, members of the media, general public and elected officials. Barnes has been received several awards, including the Agency Leadership Award, IMAGES USA 20th Anniversary; the Certificate of Appreciation for Service on a City Board or Commission, City of Atlanta; and the Phoenix Award for Community Service City of Atlanta. She obtained a Bachelors of Arts degree in English/Journalism from Parsons College.
LaShunda Walker
LaShunda Walker has over seven years successful experience in public relations, conflict resolution, marketing, and media relations with strengths in community outreach, public speaking and relationship building in non-profit, B2C, education and tourism industries. She has succeeded in managing clients’ constituent issues, building relationships and managing the communication and interaction on their behalf. LaShunda obtained a Bachelors of Arts degree in Communication, Public Relations from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and is a member of PRSA, Georgia Chapter.
