Project Description: The project consists of the installation of approximately 60,000 ft. of sanitary sewer including over 300 manholes and reconnection of over 900 laterals. Over 1,200 feet of 72” diameter hand-mined tunnel and 6,000 feet of soft-ground and hard rock micro-tunneling was installed as part of the project.
As a member of the Construction Management Group under Watershed Management, BenchMark Management served as the Construction Manager, working with Watershed Management Staff, the Engineer-of-Record, Resident Engineers, Office Engineers and Inspectors. The project was completed ahead of the consent decree mandated deadline and under budget.
East Point Capital Improvement Program

Project Description:
The City of East Point is in a Consent Order Agreement with the Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD) to identify the cause and remedy the correction of wastewater spills that have occurred from the City’s sanitary sewer system. BenchMark provided construction administration and resident inspection services through each phase of the SSES program; manhole inspection and mapping; smoke testing; and CCTV. And during the rehabilitation program, our staff of Project Managers and Inspectors monitored the construction activities for compliance with the contract documents.

Project Description:
BenchMark’s responsibilities includes the supervision of rehabilitation projects involving complementary methods of construction such as pipe bursting, open cut, horizontal directional drilling, and cured-in-place pipe lining to restore the structural and service integrity of sewer pipes and manholes. The scope included lining of more than 12,000 ft. of pipe, over 142 robotic reconnection of existing service laterals, 8 CIPP renewals of service laterals, 64 replacement and CCTV inspection of 27,000 ft. of pipe.
Dekalb County Sanitary Sewer System Computer-Based Dynamic Hydraulic Model

Develop and implement a computer-based hydraulic model of the sanitary sewer collection and conveyance system to establish a capacity assurance program and to advance the County’s CMOM program. BenchMark is responsible for providing the County a calibrated and validated model of the Pole Bridge sub-basin.

Project Description:
The City of Atlanta signed a Federal Consent Decree committing the City to an accelerated program of activities designed to improve water quality in metro-Atlanta streams and the Chattahoochee and South River. BenchMark has been part of that effort since 2004 and currently provides projects managers, designers and public information professionals to the program.
