Whittier Mill Subdivision Sanitary & Storm Sewer Improvement
Client: City of Atlanta | Department of Watershed Management
Project Location: Atlanta, Georgia
The Department of Watershed Management is continuing to upgrade its existing sanitary sewer system located within the Proctor Creek Watershed. The implementation of this project will significantly diminish the sanitary sewer overflows due to the dilapidated grapevine sewer system in the Whittier Mill community.
The project will provide each residence with a service connection to the public sewer system, increase capacity, and protect public health and safety. The scope of work will consist of approximately 5100 LF of new gravity flow system that will eliminate the existing system of multiple private residences sharing connections to the grapevine sewer lines. The system will consist of sewers ranging in size from 8-inch to 12-inch using both conventional and trenchless pipe rehabilitation and replacement methods. The scope also includes the installation of manholes and reconnection of service laterals.
